Make the styling choice

Watch the proportions. A wide jean wants a top with enough presence, but not every piece needs to be oversized. Swap the jersey for silk and the same trousers become a night-out look rather than a daytime campus one.

Take one accessory off before adding another. If the outfit still reads from across the room, the extra piece was probably not doing much for it.
